This is a labour of love. Matt and I met in Joshua Tree years ago and we felt an instant connection. Ever since then I knew I wanted to collaborate. We spent a couple of years traveling back and forth between Toronto and Hamburg, NY, where Matt is currently based, recording in two or three day segments. The end result combines all my musical influences more than anything to date - African, Middle Eastern, 70’s pop/soul, jazz and Indian spiritual music. My deep gratitude to Matt, whose musical voice is woven into the fabric of this recording, and to all the wonderful guest artists who contributed. I have traveled the world, but my heart and mind and spirit have ended up in India, and so my life has been a journey... from Cape Town to Kolkata.
